Sugar Soap Making Workshop

Hi guys!!
I am here with 2 Sugar-sweet DIYs (namely sugar scrub and Sugar soap) exclusively for Mother's day, so be sure to try this with with your mom!!
Also, this is a simple one, where all ingredients will be found in your kitchen itself

DIY 1- Sugar scrub

Materials:

  1. 1 cup granulated sugar (white or brown)
  2. 1/2 cup oil (preferably olive or coconut oil)
  3. Essential oil of your choice (optional)
  4. Food/cosmetic colouring(optional, and not necessary for brown sugar)
  5. 1 wide-mouth glass jar
  6. Procedure:
  1. Mix 1 cup sugar (granulated) in 1/2 cup oil. It does not have to dissolve.
  2. Add 1-2 drops of any food/cosmetic colouring of your choice. You may add more if your mixture does not pick up the colour, but don't add excess.
  3. Now add 1-3 drops of any essential oil of your choice.
  4. Mix well. You may take a few minutes till it is all good.
  5. Now put it in a glass jar and close it well. Keep it in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
  6. You are good to go!!
→ sugar polishes your skin, and regular use of the scrub will hydrate it and give it a shine.

DIY 2- sugar soap

ADULT SUPERVISION NEEDED

Materials:
  1. 1 soap (glycerin would be better)
  2. 1/4 cup white sugar (powdered)
  3. 15 drops any essential/aroma oil (optional)
  4. 40 drops of any food colour (optional and not needed if your soap is coloured)
Tools:
  1. silicone mould tray
  2. hand blender
  3. grater

  1. Keep all the ingredients on a table next to you.
  2. Grate or cut your soaps into really small cubes and then measure out a 1/2 cup.
  3. heat the cubes, stirring regularly with a bamboo skewer, until it is fully melted.

  4. Add the coconut oil to the melted soap base and stir well. Then add the sugar to the oil and soap mixture and stir again
  5. At this point, your mixture should have a slush like consistency.

(If it has started getting thicker then  just microwave it for another 10 seconds or so.)
  6. Pour the mixture into your silicone mould (or any mould you have)and set it aside. Allow the bars to solidify completely before removing them from the mould, which could take anywhere from one hour to overnight depending on your climate and humidity. You can also freeze them for couple of hours to make it quick,
  7. Remove from mould and put them in your mason jar and keep gift them to your mommy!!
